Welcome to the Mississippi District Pentecostal Historical Society

How many times have you pulled off the highway at a historical marker to reflect on a site’s place in history? Probably not often. We are in a hurry. I can hear my sons, Devonn and Damon now, “Dad, do we have to stop at every historical marker?” As children on vacation with their parents, their interest was to get to our destination as soon as possible and get in every second they could to ride the roller coaster and race each other on the go-karts before dad had to announce way too soon, “Okay, it’s time to go home.”

I invite you to stop and visit some of the historical markers of The Mississippi District Pentecostal Historical Society web site.  While traveling down the road to your own destination, you may happen to pass by and take a quick glance in the rear-view mirror and thank God for the individuals and ministries who have brought us to where we are today.   A serious effort has been made to preserve our past, share our memories and connect people with our history in meaningful ways. One way you can help, is to consider becoming a supporting member of the Mississippi District Pentecostal Historical Society and contribute photos and other pertinent memorabilia.  God-centered reflection benefits us and our families. That is why admonitions to pass on our testimonies and stories about God dot the Psalms: “We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done” (Psalm 78:4).

Enjoy your visit as you reminisce and walk down memory lane!
