2016 Lifetime Achievement Award

EXTEND THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI TO
REVEREND GERALD SAWYER
UNITED PENTECOSTAL CHURCH OF ANTIOCH
UPON THE RECEIPT OF A LIFETIME
ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FOR GLOBAL MISSIONS.
WHEREAS, we join the members of United Pentecostal Church International in recognizing the global missionary work of Reverend Gerald Sawyer, who has addressed the need of lost souls around the globe; and
WHEREAS, since 2000, Brother Sawyer and the United Pentecostal Church of Antioch have given over $804,630.00 to the cause of Global Missions. This mission presently supports 44 missionaries and gives a total of $2,565.00 per month to Partners in Missions; and
WHEREAS, his passion for missions has directed him to build churches in Belize, Nicaragua, Togo, Benin, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Niger, and Uganda, to name a few. It is difficult to know the exact number because funds have been given through many different offerings. Many congregations are worshipping in their own buildings due to the giving of this mission; and
WHEREAS, as a result of hosting missionaries and giving unselfishly, the United Pentecostal Church presently has 2,779,178 constituents and 35,739 churches around the world. Last year alone over 129,777 have been baptized and 130,089 have been filled with the Holy Ghost; and
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we commend this charitable mission which is a wonderful example of leadership and dedication to all:
NOW, THEREFORE, THE LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI AND SENATOR ANGELA HILL, extend the congratulations of the Mississippi Senate to Reverend Gerald Sawyer of United Pentecostal Church of Antioch upon the receipt of a Lifetime Achievement Award for Global Missions.
