Rev. Larry C. Hoyt

2023 Lifetime Achievement Award

Larry C. Hoyt was born September 19, 1946 to the proud parents Clifford and Ladonnia Hoyt. When Larry was three his dad began preaching, when he was five his dad elected as pastor to his first church at Summit, Mississippi. Reverend C.C. Hoyt also pastored in McComb, Mississippi and Mt. Hermon, Louisiana. After that he built a church in Jackson, Louisiana and served there until his death.

Larry received the Holy Ghost at 15years of age under the ministry of Reverend D. L. Welch. Larry completed his education at Mt. Hermon High in 1964 and joined the Army National Guard and served for seven years. He married the love of his life 1966, Judy Carney. Larry stated, “Marring Judy was the best thing that ever happened to him.”

Larry worker at Bectall Power Company until entering full time ministry in 1975. He evangelized throughout the states until 1983, he was known as the “Devil Chaser”.

Larry had served as pastor and Bishop at Lighthouse for 37 years. He served as Home Missions Director for Section eight. He served on the Executive Board of Jackson College of Ministries. Currently he is serving as Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Mississippi District United Pentecostal Church.

ln the 37 years he has been ministering in Lucedale there have been and still Signs and Wonders and Miracles happening. Lucedale is known as a Revival Church and the congregation has tried to carry that atmosphere by experiencing the baptism of hundreds of converts in Jesus Name. After 37 years Bishop Hoyt is still very active in the ministry and very blessed to serve beside his son Darrick, who serves as pastor.
